Davos, January 23, 2025

The activities of the Kosovo House in Davos within the framework of the World Economic Forum, concluded last night with the Kosovo Night. Prime Minister Kurti addressed the participants, among whom the Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Affairs of Croatia, Gordan Grlić Radman was also present.

“These days, we have welcomed hundreds of visitors, among them politicians, diplomats and executive directors and business officials, activists from civil society and citizens and entrepreneurs of our diaspora. This great effort was made possible through teamwork that worked tirelessly to achieve this. This would not have been possible without your support, contribution and help and this is a great thank you and a sign of appreciation for your hard work that you have done for many months.” said the Prime Minister.

He added that this was the first time we have our own space here in Davos, but we have also made history by having the largest house.

“We look forward to welcoming you to Kosovo to explore businesses, economic investments, trade opportunities and be sure that in the Republic of Kosovo you will find not only a market but also a government as a partner.” said the Prime Minister.

In conclusion, he said that this initiative goes beyond reflecting Kosovo – it is about uniting our diaspora, building connections and demonstrating that Kosovo does not only join global conversations but we create platforms to lead them.

Full speech by Prime Minister Kurti:

Ladies and gentlemen,
Dear guests,

Thank you for joining us in this special occasion. I will not mention you all by your name, I just like to mention in particular Minister of Foreign Affairs of Croatia, Mr. Radman. Dear Gordan, dear friend, with whom we have been cooperating closely from the first month I took office almost four years ago. Thank you for many moments that you have provided for all of us during these couple of days here in Davos, and definitely the House of Kosova at the World Economic Forum in Davos, here in Switzerland, is a house that should make you feel at home, but at the same time never forgetting that it is Switzerland which is the home of around 300.000 albanians and perhaps two thirds of them from the Republic of Kosova. So house and home become one, tonight, here.

For these two days we have been welcoming hundreds of visitors, among them politicians, diplomats, and CEOs and business officials, activists from civil society and citizens and entrepreneurs of our diaspora.

This huge effort was all made possible through a teamwork that has worked tirelessly to bring this to life. This wouldn’t be possible without your support, contribution and help and this is a big thank you, and a sign of appreciation for your hard work that you’ve done for many months so we could enjoy these days.

I thank Lika Group for providing this space, which I am told is the largest one and the most beautiful House here in Davos, certainly the most beautiful view towards Davos as well, and I also want to thank the team of Speeex and HIB petrol and DeSede for standing by our side and supporting and the contribution they have made.

So, not only was this the first time we have our own space here in Davos, but we’ve made history also by having the largest house.

I also want to thank other sponsors who have contributed to making this possible. The private sector played a vital role—not only providing financial support but also being present from day one, contributing time, and energy, and resources, and expertise. Their commitment to Kosova’s success has been truly inspiring.

This event takes place at the end of our first full mandate, at the same time is the first full mandate of a government since we declared independence in 2008. We know that institutional stability provides good platform for economic growth and for predictability and predictability is what investors love most. We have had the fastest democratic rise and biggest economic growth in the last four years.

So, in many ways, we couldn’t do this before. Simply put, Kosova wasn’t ready. And now we are more than ready, and no wonder that just as our exports doubled in these last four years, likewise, foreign direct investment more than doubled in these last four years. We look forward to welcome you to Kosova at your convenience to explore business, economic investments, trade opportunities, and rest assure that in the Republic of Kosova you do not have only a market but also a government as your partner.

This initiative goes beyond showcasing Kosova—it is about uniting our diaspora, building connections, and demonstrating that Kosova doesn’t just join global conversations; we create platforms to lead them.

To all who have contributed—across public and private sectors, in Kosova and abroad—thank you very much and this success belongs to you.
