The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, hosted today the President of the American Councils for International Education, Lisa Choate.

Together they talked about strengthening cooperation and synergy with the organization, as well as commemorating the 20th anniversary of the Kosovar-American Education Fund (KAEF), which has also contributed to the development of Kosovo through initiatives in the field of education.

Prime Minister Kurti congratulated Mrs. Lisa Choate for her recent appointment as President of the American Councils for International Education, recognizing the organization’s significant impact on international education. He singled out the role of the American Councils for International Education and the KAEF in supporting the professionals who already lead and support the public and private sectors of Kosovo.

In these 20 years, KAEF has invested 11 million dollars, resulting in 117 graduates from the best universities in the USA, many of whom are now directly contributing to the advancement and development of Kosovo. The achievements of these students include the management of projects worth over 80 million euros, the establishment of over 50 businesses, the creation of over 10,000 jobs and the training of over 5,000 individuals, enhancing the capabilities of the public and private sectors.

It was emphasized that over 40% of graduates work in the private sector and about 30% contribute through international organizations such as EBRD and IMF, contributing to the economic and institutional sustainability of Kosovo.

The Prime Minister also emphasized the government’s commitment to increase cooperation with KAEF and the American Councils for International Education, with the aim of advancing cooperation and supporting Kosovo’s strategic aspirations.
