The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, welcomed the President of North Macedonia, Stevo Pendarovski, who stayed for an official visit to our country today.
They first held a tête-à-tête before the bilateral meeting between the official delegations.
Prime Minister Kurti welcomed him to Pristina and the Government Building for the second time, after his first visit in December 2021.
“Our two countries and states wish the best for each other and have good communication and cooperation both institutionally and at the level of our societies”, said Prime Minister Kurti at the beginning of the meeting. He thanked President Pendarovski and North Macedonia for supporting Kosovo in various issues of common interest, especially at the international level through support for membership in international organizations.
The meeting discussed bilateral relations, areas in which cooperation can be increased and deepened, and joint infrastructure projects that connect the two countries, such as the Prizren-Tetova road project, for which the respective ministers signed in the second week of this month agreement for co-financing the design of the project for the construction of the tunnel for the Prizren-Tetova road.
They also talked about the developments in the region, the dialogue process mediated by the European Union and the security situation after the terrorist and paramilitary attack four months ago in Banjska in the municipality of Zveçan. On this occasion, the Prime Minister thanked President Pendarovski for the decision for North Macedonia to increase the contingent of its troops within KFOR.
President Pendarovski expressed gratitude for the hospitality today. He said that Kosovo and North Macedonia, in addition to very good relations, also have the same strategic goals, and that it is ready to share with Kosovo its experiences regarding European integration and NATO membership.
