The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, welcomed this morning together with the Minister of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, Arbërie Nagavci, the participants of the 42nd International Seminar on Albanian Language, Literature and Culture.
This seminar was founded in 1974 and this year marks its 50th anniversary, as the 42nd edition in a row, this time gathered around 300 participants, among them albanologists from all over the world.
On this occasion, Prime Minister Kurti said that he is honored by this visit of researchers of Albanian language, literature and culture, while he thanked them for their continuous commitment and valuable contribution through participation in this seminar.
He added that evidence of the work of researchers of the Albanian language, literature and culture can be seen everywhere, whether in the people who work and cultivate our language and literature, but also in the works that are read and published. Among other things, he spoke about the importance of the history of the language and the history of our people, which he said cannot be separated or learned separately from each other. It was also discussed about the relationship between the use of language and the development of technology, especially in relation to artificial intelligence, the corresponding chances and risks.
The government through MAShTI has supported the organization of this seminar, this year as a result of the Memorandum of Understanding with the University of Pristina, and will continue to support other initiatives that serve the study, recognition and analysis of our language and literature, culture and history.
This year, some of the most eminent figures of albanology and language in the world are invited to this event, such as linguist Brian Joseph, academician Ranko Matasoviq, professor Jose Manuel Floristan Imizcoz, lecturer Phil Hubbard, who returns to the event after 47 years, albanologist Rexhep Ismajli and historian Oliver Jens Schmitt.
