Prime Minister Kurti welcomed the Mayor of Johnston, Iowa, USA, Paula Dierenfeld

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, welcomed the Mayor of Johnston, Iowa, USA, Paula Dierenfeld to a meeting.

Together they discussed the good relations between Iowa and Kosovo and our friendship, while addressing opportunities for deepening cooperation in areas such as agriculture, education, defense and sports.

Prime Minister Kurti informed her about the country’s economic development and democratic progress in the last four years, highlighting investments and advancements in the fields of health, education and defense.

He added that Kosovo is also home to important sports organizations, as we are preparing to host the 2030 Mediterranean Games and while in July next year we will welcome the European Volleyball Championship for the U16 age group for girls together with Albania.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Kurti also emphasized the cooperation, partnership and close alliance with the United States of America, where among the major joint projects is the Millennium Challenge Corporation’s Compact program, MCC, as an investment in renewable energy through energy storage batteries, worth 236.7 million dollars.
