The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, together with the Deputy Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Daulina Osmani, today met the Kosovo karate team, in the girls’ competition, consisting of Fortesa Orana, Vlera Qerimi, Hatixhe Zejnullahu and Albulena. Gervalla, which won a bronze medal at the World Karate Championships, which was held from October 24-29 in Budapest, Hungary.
On this occasion, Prime Minister Kurti congratulated them for the success achieved in the World Championship, at the same time he wished them further success by providing them with institutional support in order to continue with other results and successes.
The athletes thanked Prime Minister Kurti for the reception and support. During the conversation, they shared with him their experiences from participating in the championship and their professional career journey.
This success is considered historic as it has been won for the first time in women’s competition and at the team level in karate. In this championship, Kosovo registered four victories, defeating England, Switzerland, France and Kazakhstan, and only one loss, from Japan, which then reached the final. It is worth noting that in these five matches in Kosovo, karate practitioner Fortesa Orana has been undefeated, scoring five victories. A total of 55 countries from all over the world participated in this competition.
