The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, received today in a meeting Michael Wood, from the United Kingdom, who led the legal team of Kosovo before the International Court of Justice in 2010.
Prime Minister Kurti thanked Mr. Wood for his contribution, especially in the legal protection of Kosovo’s international law on the occasion of the declaration of independence. The advisory opinion of the Constitutional Court of 2010, which concludes that Kosovo’s independence did not violate international law, constitutes one of the fundamental dates in the history of the state of Kosovo, therefore, Prime Minister Kurti said that it is a pleasure to welcome and meet with Mr. Wood right on the eve of the 15th anniversary of the declaration of Independence.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Kurti informed about the achievements in the country, about the current developments, about the reforms undertaken as a function of economic development, the fight against crime and corruption, as well as about the strengthening of democracy.
He also discussed with Mr. Wood about the relations between Kosovo and Serbia and the dialogue process, for which the prime minister said that the Republic of Kosovo has continuously been constructive and creative in the service of the full normalization of relations with mutual recognition at the center.
In this meeting, Mr. Wood was accompanied by the rector of the University of Pristina, Qerim Qerimi.
