Obiliq, April 22, 2025

The acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, together with the acting Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade, Rozeta Hajdari, visited today the MUNDA Kosova manufacturing plant, a new company producing text lighting systems for the automotive industry, which is a German-Kosovar investment. It is part of the supply chain for brands such as AUDI, and operates with high standards and professionalism.

“It is a pleasure and a special honor to be here with you and before you today, in a facility that best embodies the partnership between Kosovo and Germany, and that demonstrates our shared vision for economic development and long-term cooperation”, said Prime Minister Kurti at the beginning of the visit, adding that MUNDA, as a joint venture between two prestigious German companies, AUNDE and MENTOR, represents more than an investment, therefore a sign of trust and concrete proof that Kosovo is a country that offers real opportunities for strategic investments.

This investment is worth close to 7 million euros. The company employs 65 people, while by 2026 it is planned to employ a total of 210 people. Currently, 60% of the employees are women.

During this visit, the Prime Minister highlighted the reform in vocational education, namely dual education, as one of the strategic pillars of the government, through which over 1,600 students follow a three-year program in 12 different professional fields, describing it as a concrete step towards creating a qualified workforce and a close connection between school and the labor market. In this context, he said that we consider MUNDA’s decision to invest in Kosovo as a strong confirmation of our progress.

He emphasized that it makes us particularly proud that this investment was initiated and led by a member of our diaspora: “the diaspora is one of the most valuable assets of our state and nation, and when it returns with knowledge, capital and international experience, Kosovo wins many times over.”

He further added that the future of Kosovo is being built on partnerships like this one: with companies that have global experience, advanced technology, and people who believe in the collective potential of our country.

“On behalf of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo, I thank you for the trust, investment and values you bring with you. We will always stand by every initiative that strengthens the economy, increases opportunities and strengthens the friendship between Kosovo and Germany. I wish you much success in the future and thank you for your warm hospitality”, he concluded.

Full speech of Prime Minister Kurti:

Honored Ms. Rozeta Hajdari, Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade,

Honored Deputy Ambassador of Germany, Mr. Matthias Conrad,

Honored shareholders and managers of MENTOR and AUNDE companies, Mr. Wido Weyer, Dennis Weyer and Peter Bolton,

Honored CEO of MUNDA, Mr. Kai Muxel,

Honored factory manager in Kosovo, Mr. Kushtrim Grainca,

Honored representatives of the German Chamber of Kosovo,

Honored workers and engineers,

Honored guests,

Ladies and gentlemen,

It is a pleasure and a special honor to be here with you and before you today, in a facility that best embodies the partnership between Kosovo and Germany, and that demonstrates our shared vision for economic development and long-term cooperation.

MUNDA, as a joint venture between two prestigious German companies, AUNDE and MENTOR, represents more than an investment. It is a sign of trust and concrete evidence that Kosovo is a country that offers real opportunities for strategic investments.

MUNDA, now part of the supply chain for brands like AUDI, operates with high standards and admirable professionalism. This is an achievement that honors and motivates us to further improve the investment environment in our country.

As a government, we have continuously worked to build a sustainable, efficient and friendly legal, economic and institutional environment for local and foreign investors. During this mandate, we have maintained macro-fiscal stability, increased budget revenues, supported the private sector and invested in educational, technological and digital infrastructure. Therefore, our results are visible: exports have doubled, unemployment is falling, and international investor confidence is increasing.

One of our strategic pillars is the reform of vocational education. We continue to build and consolidate the dual education system, in which over 1,600 students follow a three-year program in 12 different vocational fields. This is a concrete step towards creating a qualified workforce and a close connection between school and the labor market.

In this context, your presence here and the decision to invest in Kosovo, under the leadership of Mr. Grainca and Mr. Muxel, is considered a strong confirmation of this progress.

And what makes me especially happy is the fact that there has been systematic work for three consecutive years, not every month or every week, but every day, in order to reach such an important and joyful point for all of us.

It makes us especially proud that this investment was initiated and led by a member of our diaspora. The diaspora is one of the most valuable assets of our state and nation, and when it returns with knowledge, capital and international experience, Kosovo wins many times over.

The future of Kosovo is built on partnerships like this one: with companies that have global experience, advanced technology, and people who believe in the collective potential of our country.

On behalf of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo, I thank you for the trust, investment and values you bring. We will always stand by every initiative that strengthens the economy, increases opportunities and strengthens the friendship between Kosovo and Germany.

I wish you much success in the future and thank you for your warm hospitality.

Best wishes!
