The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, visited the tourism center in Peja. There, the Prime Minister had the opportunity to closely visit the “Adventure Tourism” project, the total value of which amounts to 262 thousand euros, of which 165 thousand euros from the Government through the Ministry of Local Government Administration and 97 thousand euros from the Municipality of Peja.
The tourism office has already been renovated, while for the development of the sector in this area, work continues on the installation of climbing lines, supporting infrastructure, rest areas on the mountain paths and marking the paths. Meanwhile, from the budget of the MLGA and the DEMOS project, in the Municipality of Peja for the years 2021 – 2024, a total of 41 projects in the value of 3.3 million euros have been financed.
During the visit, Prime Minister Kurti also met with the beneficiaries of the Kosovo-Montenegro cross-border cooperation projects, which are being implemented within the framework of IPA fund investments from the European Union and the Kosovo-Montenegro BNK program. In total, there are a total of 11 projects reaching the value of 4,296,905 euros. Beneficiaries of these projects are municipalities such as Peja, Istogu, Juniku, Deçani, Klina and Gjakova, while from Montenegro, among many municipalities, there are those of Rozhaja, Tuzi, Ulcinj, Kolashini and Plava.
Prime Minister Kurti emphasized the importance of these projects for the development of tourism, but also the strengthening of bilateral cooperation between our two countries.
