Krushe e Madhe, 17 June, 2024
On the occasion of the 81st birthday of the professor and political thinker Ukshin Hoti, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, and paid tribute to his bust and visited the House Museum of Ukshin Hoti, in Krushë e Madhe.
In commemoration of his figure, the Prime Minister expressed the highest honors and deep gratitude for the life and work of Professor Ukshin Hoti. “As we return to Krushë e Madhe for every birthday and whenever we can between birthdays, we also re-read the work of father Uke, because it is always current and speaks for our time no less than for the time when he wrote, studied, worked, lived and acted”, said Prime Minister Kurti.
The Prime Minister stated that the truth about Professor Ukshin Hoti is surely in the archives of Belgrade, as he recalled that he disappeared after his release from prison and immediately in May 1999. “Therefore, those who are guilty, those who are responsible, they also have the archive of the disappearance of Professor Ukshin Hoti”, added the prime minister.
He also underlined that we already have a Commission by decision of the Government, which will republish the complete work of Ukshin Hoti, and at the same time will also publish texts and documents that have not been published until now, recalling that a significant part of texts were burned when this house, which today is the House Museum, was burned.
“The people of Kosovo live free, independent, we have our own state, the Republic of Kosovo, the Republic for which Ukshin Hoti has done so much both theoretically and practically, and the criminals have fled, while Ukshin Hoti’s descendants, both biological and politicians, here they are, here we are together”, concluded the Prime Minister’s statement.
During the visit, Prime Minister Kurti also wrote in the book of memories of the Museum House:
“We return to the birthday of prof. Ukshin Hoti, for every year in Krushë te Madhe, and whenever we can between birthdays. Returning to Krushë e Madhe and rereading the work of Ukshin Hoti are a national, civic and human duty for each and every one. The Museum House is a place of Albanian historical glory, deep political thought and a life lived with dignity”.
Prime Minister Kurti’s complete pronunciation:
Today, on the occasion of the 81st birthday of Professor Ukshin Hoti, who has no death date since he is missing and to this day his fate has not been revealed, we came together with colleagues and activists here in Krushë e Madhe, to the Museum House, to express our high respects and deep gratitude for his life and work.
As we return to Krushë e Madhe for every birthday and whenever we can between birthdays, we also re-read the work of father Ukë, because it is always current and speaks for our time no less than for the time when he wrote, studied, worked, lived and acted.
The truth about Professor Ukshin Hoti probably lies in the archives of Belgrade, because it is unlikely that his disappearance was accidental. He did not disappear in prison, he disappeared after his release from prison and that immediately, in May 1999. Therefore, those who are guilty, those who are responsible, they also have the archive of the disappearance of Professor Ukshin Hoti.
I am glad that we finally have a Commission by decision of the Government, which will republish the complete work of Ukshin Hoti, and at the same time will also publish texts and documents that have not been published until now. Always with sadness that a significant part of the texts were burned when this house, which today is a Museum House, was burned. However, the people of Kosovo live free, independent, we have our own state, the Republic of Kosovo, the Republic for which Ukshin Hoti has done so much both theoretically and practically, and the criminals have fled, while the biological descendants of Ukshin Hoti and politicians, here they are, here we are together.
