Ferizaj, 31 January, 2024

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, visited the GERIS PACK Company in Ferizaj, which is also a beneficiary of measure 2.1 for subsidizing investment loans, within the Economic Revival Package.
Located on the Prishtina-Ferizaj highway, with an area of 5400 square meters, the GERIS PACK Company employs about 20 workers in GERIS PACK, while in the other GERIS department, that of clothing, it counts about 30 workers. Three years ago, when it started working, it had only three employees.

This was Prime Minister Kurti’s next visit to the company, in which he expressed that it was a pleasure to visit the production of this factory, which has 70% of its production for export to the countries of the region, 20% for the domestic market of Kosovo, while 10% for European Union countries.
The GERIS factory is divided into two departments: the one for clothing and the one for packaging, namely the packaging of food boxes.

The primary focus of the company is the production of plastic items for packaging, mainly food box packaging, of high quality according to international standards, where the level of quality is the same as that of world producers. GERIS PACK is the first manufacturer in the Balkans that offers the supply of cardboard packaging for food packaging because previously the packaging was provided only by foreign importers.

The special feature of this factory, as the Prime Minister pointed out, is that one of the engineers who operates and works in this factory is from China, while a year ago, GERIS PACK also employed an engineer from Turkey.

In this visit, Prime Minister Kurti was accompanied by the Deputy Minister of Finance, Labor and Transfers, Agon Dobruna, in the presence of the owner of the factory, Nysret Gashi, and the workers of this factory.
On this occasion, during this visit Prime Minister Kurti congratulated the owner of the company as well as its workers, for the successful results of the work, the high number of workers, the achievements, progress and continuous expansion of the company, and the results achieved in export.

Prime Minister Kurti’s complete statement:

We are here at the GERIS PACK Company, which is owned by Nysret Gashi, whom we thank for his warm hospitality.

I am with the Deputy Minister of Finance, Labor and Transfers, Agon Dobruna, and it was a pleasure to visit the production of this factory, which has two departments, one is for clothing, but the other is GERIS PACK, which is dedicated to different types of packaging.

70% of the production is for export to the countries of the region, 20% is for the internal market of Kosovo, while 10% is for the countries of the European Union.

They are beneficiaries of Measure 2.1 which subsidized investment loans for our producers and we were happy to hear from the owner how when he started 3 years ago he had only 3 workers. Meanwhile, there are twenty workers in GERIS PACK, while in the other department GERIS, there are over thirty workers and there we have the production of clothing, where the main part is for the domestic market, while there is something regarding export to the countries of the region.

The space was impressive at 5,400 square meters in total, and we also talked with the workers regarding their conditions and income and encouraged them to continue working and contributing to Kosovo, thus benefiting themselves and their families.

Thank you very much Nysret!
