The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, accompanied by the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Hajrulla Çeku, the two deputies of the Assembly from the ranks of the VETËVENDOSJE! Movement, Artan Abrashi and Arbër Rexhaj and the assembly of the VETËVENDOSJE! Movement in the Municipal Assembly of Prizren, during yesterday he visited the city of Prizren. During his stay there, he visited various institutions in this city full of historical and cultural heritage.
Prime Minister Kurti started his visit at the Council of the Islamic Community, to congratulate them on the Eid holiday. There he was received by its leaders who thanked the Prime Minister for the visit.
First, he stopped to visit the centuries-old hamam known as “Gazi Mehmed Pasha’s Hamam”, which is a monument in which oriental and local traditions are combined, and which has become one of the spiritual symbols of the city.
Then he closely saw the finalization of the work at the Archeological Site in the Connection Square in Prizren, of great historical, scientific, cultural and educational importance, and is the next evidence of the thousand-year-old antiquity of the city. The Government of Kosovo is supporting the restoration projects of the locality to present it to the public as soon as possible, as well as to promote cultural values through the development of cultural tourism.
To continue then to the “Lady Helper” Cathedral in Prizren, which, in addition to the important historical value, has a high aesthetic, social, cultural and educational value. This Cathedral is among the many cultural heritage assets restored during the current administration.
Prime Minister Kurti ended his visit to Prizren at the Lumbardhi Cinema, to attend the concert “Harmonia e Kulturave” (The harmony of cultures) performed by soloist Rejhane Kodrazi, pianist Eda Vllaço and violinist Avni Thaqi.
