The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, together with the Minister for Community and Return, Nenad Rašić and the Deputy Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade, Enes Goran, today met with members of the non-majority Goran community. Participation included civil society, employees in institutions, and political representation from the local level.
In the meeting, Prime Minister Kurti updated them with the government’s actions for the Goran community from the last meeting they had in October. This includes a support package of 3 million euros for non-majority communities, for NGOs, new and existing businesses, and for farmers and small producers in rural areas. There was also talk about the program of the Office for Community Affairs, for the allocation of 500 thousand euros for NGOs and the media, with funds reserved for each community; and for the goran beneficiaries from the last call of the Ministry for Communities and Return for the construction of houses. The Prime Minister mentioned the Government’s work with the Commission for the Verification of Diplomas issued by the University of North Mitrovica and the initiative to create a Unit for Translation and Harmonization within the Office of the Prime Minister.
The attendees shared their concerns regarding the employment of the community in institutions, while the Prime Minister shared with them the plans for addressing and handling this issue.
