The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosova, Albin Kurti, received the ambassador of Sweden in Kosova, Mrs. Karin Hernmarck, in a farewell meeting.
Prime Minister Kurti thanked Ambassador Hernmarck for the cooperation and for the continuous support of Sweden for the Republic of Kosova throughout the years.
Sweden is among the four largest donors in Kosova, which has helped public institutions and civil society organizations with over 10 million euros per year in projects for economic and democratic development, human rights and environmental protection, which have helped in the transformation of our society.
The Prime Minister especially thanked the ambassador for her active role in promoting gender equality and protecting the environment.
He also congratulated her on the decision to apply for membership in NATO, stressing that Sweden’s membership in NATO will be an added value for the alliance and will strengthen peace and security in Europe.
Ambassador Hernmarck thanked the Prime Minister for the cooperation, wishing him success with the reforms he has started, for the institutional stability he has brought and for focusing on policies that transform the lives of citizens.
He also reiterated the Swedish Government’s commitment to supporting comprehensive and sustainable economic development, the rule of law and a free and democratic society.
