The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, received in a meeting the Executive Director of the Institute for War Crimes Committed During the War in Kosovo (IWCK), Atdhe Hetemi. The Chairman of the Government Commission on Missing Persons, Andin Hoti and the MP Saranda Bogujevci were also present at the meeting.

The discussion focused on the 18-month work of IWCK since November 2023, specifically its research on war crimes and the collection of materials from 338 sources.

Prime Minister Kurti reaffirmed the continuous commitment of the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo to address all crimes committed by Serbia during the war in Kosovo. He described the work of IWCK as vital, not only for documenting historical truth but also for the pursuit of justice.

The Executive Director of IWCK, Atdhe Hetemi, stated that the Institute’s archive has continued to expand and that the physical archive now contains 300.25 linear meters of materials, while the electronic archive holds approximately 20.6 TB of data. He emphasized that the growth of both archives reflects not only the commitment of IWCK but also the growing trust of the public and institutions in its work and mission.

It was highlighted that these materials are being archived to serve both our collective memory and our pursuit of justice, and that they will benefit future generations in understanding the suffering and resistance of our people during a dark chapter in history.
