The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, today participated in the Memorial Academy marking the 18th anniversary of the death of the historical former President of Kosovo, Dr. Ibrahim Rugova, which was held in Gjilan, under the patronage of the President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani-Sadriu.
In this academy, where the highest heads of state, deputy prime ministers, ministers, deputies, mayors of municipalities, family members of President Rugova, representatives of political parties, and other personalities were present, the political figure of President Ibrahim Rugova was highly appreciated for the historical contribution for the freedom and independence of Kosovo, but also the intellectual attitude, for the peaceful behavior, for the humanistic approach, for the internationalization of the Kosovo issue and for the nationalization of the civil resistance.
From those present at this academy, it was emphasized that President Rugova was relentless and tireless in his work and commitment for the good of the country.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Donika Gërvalla, speaking on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo, said that Ibrahim Rugova was the leader of the Albanians, a fighter for freedom, democracy and the independence of Kosovo, thinker, intellectual, writer, critic , activist and great humanist, and above all he was the intellectual who took over the leadership of the movement for freedom and independence of Kosovo.
In this academy, the President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani Sadriu, the Mayor of the Municipality of Gjilan, Alban Hyseni and the former president of the country, Fatmir Sejdiu, gave speeches.
