The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, paid tribute today and laid wreaths at the graves of the nation’s hero, Ilir Konushevci and Doctor Hazir Malajt, on the 25th anniversary of their death.
During the tributes, Prime Minister Kurti said that today we have come together with fellow ministers and MPs, Deputy Prime Minister Rexhepi and the Konushevci and Malaj families to pay respects to these two martyrs of the nation who spared nothing and who gave their lives so that the people Albanian to live freely in his own land.
The main and largest part of the political and social progress in our country has been carried out by the nation’s martyrs, he added, while we have a smaller but important part of the work which is made good precisely by having them as guides, the martyrs and martyrs who are also evidence of Serbia’s crimes in Kosovo, but at the same time, the indomitable will of our people for freedom.
In these tributes, Prime Minister Kurti was accompanied by the Deputy Prime Minister Emilja Rexhepi, the Minister of Justice, Albulena Haxhiu, the deputies of the Assembly of Kosovo, Enver Dugolli and Driton Hyseni, and assembly members and activists of the VETËVENDOSJE! Movement, Center of Pristina.

Today, May 9, when it was 25 years since the death of Ilir Konushevci and doctor Hazir Malaj, we came here together with fellow ministers and MPs, with Deputy Prime Minister Rexhepi and with both families, with the Konushevci and Malaj families, to pay our respects to these two martyrs of the nation who spared nothing, who gave their lives so that the Albanian people could live freely in their own land.
The main and largest part of the social political progress in our country was carried out by the martyrs of the nation, while we have a smaller but important part of the work which is done well precisely by having the martyrs as guides, who are also evidence of Serbia’s crimes in Kosovo, but at the same time, the indomitable will of our people for freedom.
Today, Iliri and doctor Haziri brought their close families together, but they also brought all of us together, and they bring together the Albanian people as a very wide, very wide family, because they are the nation’s martyrs who can never be forgotten. We pay their debt and fulfill the obligation as long as we ourselves are alive.
Therefore, glory to Ilir Konushevci, doctor Hazir Malaj and all the martyrs and martyrs of the Albanian people.
