Prime Minister Kurti paid homage on the 26th anniversary of the Koshare battle

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, this morning, paid homage at the “The Fallen of Koshare” Memorial Complex, on the 26th anniversary of the glorious battle of Koshare.

“We come here to the graves of the fallen to remind them and ourselves of how great their sacrifice was, how glorious the KLA’s war is and how great the price of the freedom we enjoy, of the state we are building together,” the Prime Minister said after the homage.

He emphasized that 26 years ago, with the glorious battle of Koshare, the Kosovo Liberation Army, with fighters from almost all units of its operational areas, tore down the border that separated the Albanians, that separated Kosovo from Albania and that was old since 1913, respectively from 1918.

“From the ranks of the Kosovo Liberation Army, 114 fighters were martyred, led by commanders Agim Ramadani – Katana and Sali Čekaj, but we also had more than 400 wounded. At least 108 soldiers and officers of the Serbian aggressor and occupying army were killed. In addition, it is important to note that in the ranks of the Kosovo Liberation Army we had volunteers from France and Algeria, from Italy, Sweden and Britain, Meanwhile, there were mercenaries from Russia in the ranks of the Serbian army,” Prime Minister Kurti further stated.
