Sllatinë, Kaçanik, 13 April 2025
In honor of the 6 fallen and 13 martyrs, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, paid homage and laid flowers in front of the memorial plaque in Sllatinë, Kaçanik, on the 26th anniversary of their fall.
On 13 April 1999, Serbian forces had surrounded the Vata neighborhood and the village of Sllatinë. After a merciless barrage of grenades, they entered with ferocity, looted and burned houses, brutally killing 13 unarmed and innocent Albanians.
With a minute of silence, were honored the fallen: Hysen Elezi, Naim Beka, Ramadan Xhokli, Agim Matoshi, Shaban Elezi, Avni Shehu and the 13 martyrs: Qemajl Deda, Rrahman Lami, Shuqeri Alili, Brahim Lami, Sabri Salijaj, Hebib Lami, Kemajl Salijaj, Mahmut Caka, Izahir Salijaj, Jakup Caka, Nazmi Elezi, Ilir Caka and Dr. Vesel Elezi.
