Prime Minister Kurti met with US Lieutenant General Michael Fenzel

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, accompanied by the Minister of Defense, Ejup Maqedonci, met with US Lieutenant General Michael Fenzel, the United States Security Coordinator for Israel and Palestine.

During the conversation, Prime Minister Kurti informed Lieutenant General Fenzel about the progress and economic growth in the last four years, the distribution and employment policies, the improvement of the rule of law and the advancement of political rights and civil liberties. In addition, he emphasized the investments in defense and armament, the cooperation with the United States of America as a special friend, irreplaceable partner and great ally of our country, and its invaluable contribution to the liberation, independence and democratization of the country, but also in the advancement and strengthening of the Kosovo Security Force.

The Prime Minister highlighted cooperation in the field of defense, from the purchase of the Javelin anti-tank missile system and Black Hawk helicopters, to the joint landing with American troops in Kuwait, and participation as a host country in the Defender Europe 25 exercise, but also in the humanitarian field with the assistance provided for the shelter of Afghan refugees in Kosovo. Recently, the Republic of Kosovo has also allocated five hundred thousand euros (€500,000) for humanitarian aid in Gaza.

The meeting discussed the possibilities of Kosovo’s involvement and contribution to initiatives led and coordinated by the United States of America and joint partners.
