Prime Minister Kurti met with the UN Coordinator in Kosovo, Arnhild Spence

Today, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, welcomed the United Nations Coordinator in Kosovo, Arnhild Spence, with whom he discussed the ongoing cooperation between government institutions and UN agencies.

The Prime Minister praised the UN’s contribution to the country’s development and emphasized the commitment of the Government of Kosovo to the principle of leaving no one behind, placing social justice at the center of state policies.

The meeting also discussed the importance of justice for victims of sexual violence during the war, emphasizing the necessity of treating this issue as a war crime and the obligation to guarantee continuous institutional support for survivors. The issue of diploma verification was also addressed, and the Government of Kosovo has decided to extend the mandate of the Commission for this important process, ensuring that every citizen has an equal opportunity to exercise their academic and professional rights.

They also discussed the importance of digitalization for increasing transparency and efficiency in public administration in every corner of the country, a priority of the Government of Kosovo on the path of modernization of state institutions. The Government of Kosovo has enabled legal mechanisms for regulated and effective cooperation with UN agencies in the country, deepening the partnership in areas of strategic importance for the development and well-being of citizens.
