The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, continued his agenda, where he met with the Speaker of the Parliament of Northern Ireland, Edwin Poots.
In the conversation between them, they talked about their respective history and experiences, especially in dealing with the painful past of the war.
Speaker Poots spoke about the lessons learned from Northern Ireland’s experience of commemorating victims. The important role of museums in commemorating every life lost was emphasized. On that occasion, Prime Minister Kurti mentioned the initiative of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, for the establishment of the War Museum, which will focus on the documentation and presentation of the crimes of the former Yugoslavia and Serbia against the Albanians in Kosovo. Furthermore, he also mentioned the establishment of the Institute for the documentation of crimes committed during the war in Kosovo.
Prime Minister Kurti thanked Mr. Poots for the hospitality and honest conversation. Also present at this meeting were the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Liza Gashi, the Ambassador of Kosovo to the United Kingdom, Ilir Kapiti and Ambassador Nicholas Abbott.
