Prime Minister Kurti met with the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs of the United Kingdom, David Lammy

At a working dinner last night, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, hosted the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs of the United Kingdom, David Lammy, and the Special Envoy for the Western Balkans, Karen Pierce, together with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Donika Gërvalla-Schwarz, the Minister of Finance, Labor and Transfers, Hekuran Murati, the Minister of Justice, Albulena Haxhiu, the Minister of Economy, Artane Rizvanolli, the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Hajrulla Çeku, the Minister for Communities and Returns, Nenad Rashiq, and the head of the parliamentary group of the Self-Determination Movement, Mimoza Kusari-Lila.

The Prime Minister welcomed him to Kosovo and thanked the Secretary of State and the United Kingdom for their contribution and support during the stages of state-building, the close friendship and partnership between our two countries.

Appreciating the cooperation and strong relations between Kosovo and the United Kingdom, the Prime Minister also highlighted the cooperation between the KSF and the British defense and security institutions.

The Prime Minister then congratulated Secretary Lammy and Special Envoy Karen Pierce on the United Kingdom’s hosting of the Berlin Process Summit this year, offering cooperation to make this summit as successful as possible.

Prime Minister Kurti further informed Mr. Lammy of the democratic progress and economic development that our country has experienced during this governing mandate, as evidenced by positive rankings in international indices in areas such as the rule of law, the fight against corruption, liberal and electoral democracy.

He also informed Secretary Lammy about investments in the field of defense and achieving the defense budget level of 2% of GDP as a NATO standard, and emphasized the primary objectives and goals of the Republic of Kosovo for membership in NATO, the European Union and the Council of Europe.

Together with the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs of the United Kingdom, David Lammy, Prime Minister Kurti also discussed the current situation in the region and the geopolitical situation in Europe, as well as security issues.

Prime Minister Kurti emphasized the fact that there is still no justice and accountability for the terrorist attack in Banjska, while Milan Radoićić is roaming free and protected by the Serbian state apparatus. He added that he should be extradited to Kosovo where he would face a fair trial for his actions.
