The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, continued his bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos with the Prime Minister of Lithuania, Gintautas Paluckas.
Initially congratulating his counterpart on his appointment and victory in the recent elections, the Prime Minister also expressed his gratitude to the friendly state of Lithuania for its support for Kosovo, especially in the field of security, through its contribution to the KFOR and EULEX missions, as well as its support for our country in its aspirations for membership in international organizations.
While thanking him for his support in the European integration process and for our efforts to progress on this journey, the Prime Minister also noted that Kosovo has already applied for EU membership and important further steps are needed.
He further informed Prime Minister Paluckas of the economic growth and democratic advancement that Kosovo has experienced in the last four years, as evidenced by the high and positive rankings of our country in international indices.
The meeting also discussed the geopolitics, security situation in the region and Europe and addressing common challenges. On this occasion, Prime Minister Kurti expressed his condemnation of the Russian aggression against Ukraine and emphasized that the Republic of Kosovo has aligned itself with international partners in imposing sanctions against Russia.
Prime Minister Kurti thanked Prime Minister Paluckas for the meeting and conversation serving to further deepen and strengthen bilateral relations and cooperation.
