Today, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, met with the new Secretary General of the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC), Amer Kapetanović, to discuss regional cooperation and economic integration of the region.

The Berlin Process, the Regional Common Market (CRM), as well as the Green Agenda, were among the main topics of discussion. The Prime Minister congratulated the Secretary General on his new assignment and reiterated Kosovo’s support for the RCC in promoting cooperation in the region.

Stressing the importance of equality in regional organizations, the Prime Minister underlined the need for fair representation in leadership positions and on the RCC staff and encouraged the organization of more RCC activities in Prishtina.

The Prime Minister expressed Kosovo’s commitment to the CRM2 Action Plan and stressed the importance of progress in implementing the mobility agreements reached within the framework of the Berlin Process, so that they bring concrete benefits to citizens.

The Green Agenda must ensure a just transition and, in this regard, equal access to financing mechanisms must be guaranteed.

Since 1 January this year, Kosovo started the unilateral implementation of the agreement on free movement with ID cards with Bosnia and Herzegovina, which has increased the mobility of Bosnian citizens towards Kosovo. This decision contributes to increasing the mobility of citizens and regional cooperation. The Prime Minister stressed the importance of Bosnia and Herzegovina ratifying the agreement on free movement with ID cards, as an obligation taken through the Berlin Process and in function of increasing mobility between citizens of the Republic of Kosovo and Bosnia and Herzegovina, but also in function of deepening cooperation and economic integration of the region.
