During the two-day stay in Strasbourg, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, accompanied by the Ambassador of Kosovo in Brussels, Agron Bajrami and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Kreshnik Ahmeti, met with the MEP from Bulgaria, Andrey Kovatchev, from the group of the European People’s Party (EPP).
The meeting discussed the reforms undertaken by the Government and the progress achieved, the European journey and the dialogue process.
Prime Minister Kurti informed MEP Kovatchev of the main achievements of the government, which turns two years old next week, highlighting the successes in the rule of law and the fight against corruption reflected in international reports and rankings.
They also talked about the next high-level political meeting between Kosovo and Serbia, in the mediation of the EU, which will be held on March 18 in Ohrid, and about the expectations from that meeting.
MEP Kovatchev emphasized that the lifting of the visa regime for Kosovo should continue without delay, as there are still a few steps left until the end of this process. He also gave his full support for Kosovo’s application to the European Union.
