The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, together with the Deputy Prime Minister of Kosovo for Minority Affairs and Human Rights, Emilija Rexhepi, welcomed the Federal Minister of Education and Science of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Jasna Durakoviq.
The parties discussed the need for closer cooperation between our two countries, not only in the field of education, but also in other areas of common interest.
During the conversation, the Prime Minister emphasized our achievements in the field of education during this governing mandate, with special emphasis on free public education, but also the Government’s commitment to equality between all communities and equal access without distinction, potentiating the process of subsidizing books for all children.
He underlined that there are a total of 2,670 students of the Bosnian community who attend school from preschool to secondary and higher education, while the number of Bosnian teachers is 486 in the entire Republic of Kosovo. The meeting also discussed the possibility of exchanging teaching staff, as well as the creation of joint commissions that would help improve the quality of textbooks in the Bosnian language.
The Federal Minister of Education and Science, Jasna Duraković, expressed her happiness to be in Pristina and appreciated the conversation with Prime Minister Kurti and Deputy Prime Minister Rexhepi, as well as expressed her willingness and willingness to increase cooperation.
For his part, the Prime Minister wished the minister a fruitful and productive stay in Kosovo, as he thanked her for today’s conversation.
