The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, welcomed to the meeting the Director for the Western Balkans and the Mediterranean at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, Commonwealth and Development of the United Kingdom (FCDO), Victoria Billing.
During the conversation, Prime Minister Kurti emphasized that the United Kingdom remains a strong partner and ally of the Republic of Kosovo, and appreciated its continuous and unwavering support to our state. He also addressed the progress that our country has known during our government, the economic growth and development as well as the social and democratic progress of Kosovo.
Among the steps and policies undertaken by the government, the prime minister mentioned allowances for children and young mothers, free public education, reconstruction of houses for non-majority communities, increase in pensions, increase in employment incentives especially for young people and women, investments in green energy through the solar auction of 100 MWh, support of local producers and scholarships for girls and women in the fields of STEM, science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
The meeting also discussed the intensification of commercial cooperation and the importance of expanding opportunities and attracting British investors to Kosovo.
Prime Minister Kurti thanked Mrs. Billing for the meeting and conversation held expressing gratitude for the cooperation and close relations between Kosovo and the United Kingdom. The ambassador of the United Kingdom in Kosovo, Jonathan Hargreaves, was also present at the meeting.
