Prime Minister Kurti met the Special Representative of Germany for the Western Balkans, Manuel Sarrazin

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, had a working breakfast today with the Special Representative of Germany for the Western Balkans, Manuel Sarrazin, at the Residence of the German Ambassador to Kosovo, Jörn Rohde. Part of the discussion was the strengthening and advancement of bilateral relations between Germany and Kosovo, regional cooperation within the Berlin Process as well as current issues.

The Prime Minister congratulated Special Representative Manuel Sarraz for a successful summit on the 10th anniversary of the Berlin Summit this month, where a new agreement was signed on access to studies, declarations on the New Regional Common Market Action Plan 2025 – 2028 as and joint declarations on good neighborliness and regional cooperation, on access and cooperation in research and innovation infrastructure and on regional standards for screening foreign direct investments in the Western Balkans.

He underlined the importance of focusing on the implementation of the agreements that have been signed. In this regard, the Prime Minister emphasized that after Kosovo’s decision that the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina can travel to Kosovo with identity cards from January 1 next year, it is important to work for Bosnia and Herzegovina to ratify the agreement on free movement with ID so as to enable full implementation of the agreement. Regarding the waiting time at the border point in Merdare, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of respecting the procedures announced in the case of changing the security measure up to the operationalization of the X-ray scanners, as well as spoke about the mobilization that the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo in this regard.

The Prime Minister thanked the Special Representative for his commitment and contribution to the advancement of regional cooperation.
