In Vienna, Austria, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, met the Federal Minister of Labor and Economy of Austria, Martin Kocher.
They discussed the important relations between Kosovo and Austria, the role and contribution of the diaspora and new opportunities for cooperation in the economy, trade, tourism and rural development.
Prime Minister Kurti expressed his gratitude for Austria’s continuous support to Kosovo, especially through the projects of the Development Agency (ADA), which amount to 26 million euros. Support from this Agency has played an instrumental role in the development of many important projects for the country, including our dual education program.
Speaking about the partnership between Kosovo and Austria, Prime Minister Kurti emphasized that Austria is one of the main investors in our country. According to the Central Bank, the amount of direct investments from Austria is almost half a billion euros, while its contribution to sectors such as banking, insurance and telecommunications has influenced our economic growth. On this occasion, Prime Minister Kurti called on Austrian companies to explore opportunities and engage in projects in the field of energy and infrastructure, within the framework of the investments foreseen for Kosovo’s energy transition and the organization of the 2030 Mediterranean Games.
Prime Minister Kurti and Minister Kocher also talked about regional cooperation, the Common Regional Market, the EU Growth Plan, as well as Kosovo’s membership in the European Union. This was the first meeting between them.
