The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, together with the Minister of Economy, Artane Rizvanolli, met the leaders of the winning consortium of the first solar energy auction, including the Director of “Groupe Orllati”, Avni Orllati, the Director of the Company “Holdigaz SA”, Philippe Petitpierre, the Director of “Jaha Solar”, Fadil Hoxha, the Director of “ZPV”, Peter Zehendner, and the Director of the “Lindja Solar” Company, Luisa Helms.
Prime Minister Kurti congratulated them for being selected as winners, thanked them for their interest and willingness to invest in Kosovo, and wished them success and good work in carrying out their work. They discussed the project and the willingness of both parties to complete it successfully in the optimal term, but also about other investment opportunities offered by Kosovo, while the preparations for the second auction for renewable resources are continuing. On behalf of the Government, Prime Minister Kurti offers close cooperation and support throughout the entire process.
The “Orllati” consortium from our exile in Switzerland, together with companies from Germany and Kosovo, were declared winners of the auction on March 29, at a price of €48.88/MWh, almost 35% cheaper than the initial ceiling price of €75/MWh. Four companies of this consortium will make an investment worth 70 million euros for the construction of capacities of 100 MW with solar energy. The signing of the agreement for the 100 MW Solar Auction projects will take place tomorrow.
The success of the “Orllati” consortium offer is a tangible example of the potential and willingness of our diaspora to be a key investor in the economic development of the country and its energy transformation.
