The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, met today the ambassador of the United Kingdom in Kosovo, Nicholas Abbott.
Together they discussed the successful passage of the first phase of Kosovo’s membership in the Council of Europe, the importance and benefits of our country’s full membership there. Prime Minister Kurti thanked Ambassador Abbott and the United Kingdom for their support and contribution to this achievement.
The holding of elections in the northern municipalities on April 23 and the next high-level political meeting in Brussels on May 2 were also topics of conversation. The importance of holding the elections, which passed without incidents, was emphasized, but on the other hand there was concern about the threats, intimidation and pressures that led to low participation.
As for expectations from next week’s meeting in Brussels, he said he expects constructive engagement that ensures full and immediate implementation of all agreed articles.
