The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, during his visit to the Vatican today, was received by the Holy Father, His Holiness, Pope Francis.
In this cordial meeting, on the morning of the longest day of the year, as the Prime Minister highlighted in the meeting, he expressed his gratitude and was very happy for such kind hospitality.
He said that the Republic of Kosovo is determined for peace, dialogue and cooperation. With Pope Francis, they talked about youth and the future, about the figure, work and legacy of Mother Teresa, about Lent where she received the call to devotion, and about multi-religious coexistence in Kosovo. The Prime Minister further informed the Holy Father about the democratic and economic success of the country, and about the achievements of the government so far, emphasizing the fact that we are the first government that is distributing allowances for expectant mothers and children up to the age of 16, as a policy support for them.
For his faith, Prime Minister Kurti said that politics is service, as he invited his Holiness, Pope Francis, to visit Kosovo, after a quick and good recovery from the recent surgical operation.
They agreed that we should always be near and with the people who need love and justice.
This was Prime Minister Kurti’s first official visit to the Vatican and his first meeting with the Holy Father, Pope Francis.
