Prime Minister Kurti met Mr. Cyrille Bellier from the French Development Agency

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, met Mr. Cyrille Bellier, the Director for Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Asia, at the French Development Agency – AFD (Agence Française de Développement) and Vladimir Deliry, from the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs of France.

Talking about the commitment of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo for the socio-economic development of the country, Prime Minister Kurti emphasized that Kosovo is the center of the EMENA region and besides its geographical position and institutional stability, Kosovo has great potential in the region.

In the meeting it was also discussed social and economic challenges that are specific to Kosovo, including energy and environmental issues.

Mr. Bellier spoke about AFD’s objectives in the region and about further actions to address Kosovo’s specific challenges.

They talked about the commitment of the French Development Agency in the Western Balkans region and joint efforts towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. In particular, there was talks about the activities that are part of the Western Balkans Investment Framework, dedicated to strategic socio-economic investments in the region in coordination with the objectives of the European Union for the integration of the region.

The meeting in Paris preceded an important AFD visit to Kosovo next week.
