Prime Minister Kurti meets the Resident Coordinator of the United Nations in Kosovo, Arnhild Spence

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, met today with the Resident Coordinator of the United Nations in Kosovo, Arnhild Spence.

During the meeting, there was a discussion about the close cooperation with UNKT, while the readiness for further deepening of this cooperation as well as overcoming common challenges was reconfirmed.

Ms. Spence reiterated the readiness of the 17 United Nations agencies that are present in Kosovo to support the goals of the Government of Kosovo and praised the cooperation so far, which has resulted in Kosovo having joint projects with United Nations organizations worth up to $46 million last year.

The meeting also discussed ways to intensify cooperation. In particular, Mrs. Spence emphasized the readiness of the United Nations to support the Government’s initiatives for inclusive and peace-building education, and shared the results of UNDP’s analysis of the needs of families affected by the floods.

Part of the talks during this meeting with the Prime Minister was the discussion of ways in which UN agencies can work together with the government to support small farmers affected by floods.
