The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, hosted the President of the European Olympic Committee, Spyros Capralos, and the General Secretary of this committee, Raffaele Pagnozzi.
President Capralos congratulated Prime Minister Kurti on the achievements of the Republic of Kosovo in sports. He said that his first visit to Kosovo comes after the success achieved in winning the candidacy for the organization of the 2030 Mediterranean Games.
Prime Minister Kurti reiterated the commitment of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo to the organization of these games, which are the biggest sports event ever held in our Republic. He expressed his heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has supported the vision of Kosovo, in addition to the hard work of the Government and the Olympic Committee of Kosovo.
Speaking about the preparations for the organization of the 2030 Mediterranean Games, Prime Minister Kurti also thanked the president of the Albanian National Olympic Committee, Fidel Ylli, who emphasized the importance of cooperation between the two state committees towards the spirit of unity that transcends borders through sport.
The President of the Kosovo Olympic Committee thanked the European Olympic Committee for the support given to the NOC and for the inclusion of the NOC representatives in various working commissions within the KOE, considering Kosovo as a permanent partner of the international sports structure .
The organization of the European Judo Championship, “European Championships Open”, was highly appreciated. It was said that this organizing of the biggest judo sport event ever organized in Kosovo, proves the level of seriousness and professionalism of Kosovo as the host of organizing of this level. The Judo Federation of Kosovo supported by the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports and the European Judo Federation was congratulated for the organization.
Also present at this meeting were the Minister of Finance, Labor and Transfers, Hekuran Murati, the Deputy Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Daulina Osmani, the President of NOC, Ismet Krasniqi, the General Secretary of NOC, Besim Aliti and the Secretary of General of ANOC, Gerti Shima.
