The very good relations between Kosovo and the Czech Republic, as well as areas with potential for cooperation, were highlighted in the meeting between the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, Jan Lipavsky.
Prime Minister Kurti expressed gratitude for the Czech support given to the state and people of Kosovo, before and after the war, as well as before and after the declaration of independence, in the international arena, in security and development projects.
Minister Lipavsky emphasized full support and solidarity for the aspirations of the Republic of Kosovo for European and Euro-Atlantic integration, while he said that he supports the joint commitment towards visa liberalization.
Prime Minister Kurti emphasized the importance of implementing the recommendation of the European Commission for the liberalization of visas for the citizens of the Republic of Kosovo. He thanked Minister Lipavsky for the Czech Republic’s support for Kosovo and treating this issue as a priority during the Czech Presidency of the Council of the EU.
They discussed the importance of the integration of the six countries of the Western Balkans into the European Union, as well as the summit of the Berlin Process that will be held in November.
Regarding the Russian invasion and military aggression in Ukraine, Minister Lipavsky expressed gratitude for the coordination of the foreign policy of the Republic of Kosovo with the European Union and the clear positioning of our country. He thanked Prime Minister Kurti for the position adopted in accordance with the positions of the EU. He also reiterated the importance of cooperation between Kosovo and the European Union against hybrid warfare.
Prime Minister Kurti and Minister Lipavsky agreed to increase cooperation in the economy, commercial exchanges, culture, security as well as information and communication technology. The great potential for deepening bilateral relations between the Republic of Kosovo and the European Union, as well as between Kosovo and the Czech Republic was emphasized.
