Prime Minister Kurti hosted the head of the OSCE, Michael Davenport

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, hosted the head of the OSCE, Michael Davenport and the deputy head of the OSCE, Jeffrey Bieley.

The meeting discussed the cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Kosovo and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) and developments in the country.

The Prime Minister announced Mr. Davenport for the appointment of vice-mayors from the Serbian community in the municipalities in the north: Katarina Axhançic, vice-mayor of the North Mitrovica Municipality, Slagjana Pantović, vice-mayor of the Zveçan Municipality, and Dragana Miletić, vice-mayor of the municipal assembly in Leposaviq, as well as for the appointment by the Assembly with secret votes of Sergjan Sentiq in the position of Deputy People’s Advocate.

The meeting also discussed de-escalation of the situation in the four municipalities in the north and normalization of relations with Serbia. Regarding the new elections, the Prime Minister said that they should be free and fair elections, planned and well prepared, with open competition and without intimidation.

Mr. Davenport expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister for the progress with the Translation and Harmonization Unit, within the Office of the Prime Minister.
