Prime Minister Kurti hosted the commander of the Iowa National Guard, Major General Corell

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, hosted the commander of the Iowa National Guard, Major General Benjamin J. Corell.

Emphasizing the commitment and dedication of the Government for the professional development of the Kosovo Security Force, Prime Minister Kurti expressed his deep gratitude for the continuous support of the United States of America.

He especially thanked the State of Iowa and the Iowa National Guard for their contribution to the Security Force so far, as well as the key role in making Kosovo a contributor to security in the world, including the KSF in security peace keeping missions.

The Prime Minister reiterated that the goal of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo is to have a Force that is capable of fulfilling its constitutional duties in defense of the country and being interoperable with partners and allies in maintaining peace in the world.

It was also discussed about the further development of skills, the increase of capacities and the provision of new and advanced equipment for the Kosovo Security Force.

In the joint meeting, where among others the ambassador of the United States of America, Jeffrey M. Hovenier, colonel Ejup Macedonci and the Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister, Luan Dalipi, were present, the strong partnership between the Republic of Kosovo and the state of Iowa was pointed out, and the potential for increased cooperation.

Speaking about Consular Services in Iowa, opened in May last year, it was emphasized that it is influencing the improvement of Kosovo’s relations with the state of Iowa and beyond with the United States of America.
