The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, accompanied by the Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade, Rozeta Hajdari, today held a meeting with members of the Swiss-Kosovo Chamber of Commerce.
This association, founded in 2013, plays a key role in promoting trade and investment relations between our two countries, providing ongoing support to companies in their commercial activities and acting as a catalyst for economic development.
During the meeting, it was discussed about the latest industrial and trade policies, the importance of the Kosovo diaspora in Switzerland, about the recently completed population census process, and the progress so far in the implementation of the dual education system.
The latter is considered a high priority by the government, as a key system for connecting the market with the workforce.
There are currently 12 different profiles of dual education in 14 municipalities around the country, with the expectation that in June next year the first graduates will emerge with an official certificate of completion of education.
Furthermore, Prime Minister Kurti emphasized that Switzerland was among the first countries to recognize the independence of the Republic of Kosovo on February 27, 2008 and that it has been and remains one of the main investors in Kosovo, with a direct investment value of about 1.1 billion euros from 2007 until the end of 2023 and that Switzerland ranks as the second country in terms of Kosovo’s largest exports.
During the conversation, it was also underlined that so far, Kosovo and Switzerland have signed 18 ratified agreements, 6 initiatives for international agreements covering technical and financial cooperation, civil aviation, free movement of persons and goods, trade, investment protection and social insurance.
