On the eve of the 25th anniversary of the Reçak Massacre, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, hosted Ambassador William Walker in a friendly meeting.
Prime Minister Kurti thanked him for his irreplaceable contribution during the war and the echo he gave to the massacre of Reçak on the international level, describing the incident in Reçak as a massacre and a crime against humanity.
They recalled the years 1998 and 1999, when Ambassador William Walker was in Kosovo at the head of the OSCE Verification Mission, whose mission was to verify whether the Serbian forces were acting in accordance with the October agreement of the United Nations, to withdraw the forces of armed and to respect the ceasefire.
Ambassador Walker said that he feels happy and proud of what Kosovo has achieved in a short period of time, becoming one of the most democratic states in Europe. He said that every time he comes to Kosovo, he is happy with the changes he sees as he moves through the streets of Kosovo.
Along with the wishes for a long life and good health, Prime Minister Kurti reiterated his gratitude to Ambassador Walker, for his correct, concrete and so humane role shown in relation to the war crimes that Serbia has committed against the Kosovo Albanians.
