Prime Minister Kurti congratulated Prime Minister Frostadóttir on her new assignment and thanked her for Iceland’s unwavering support for Kosovo, especially in Kosovo’s integration processes in international organizations, including the Council of Europe. On this occasion, Prime Minister Frostadóttir reconfirmed Iceland’s support for Kosovo’s membership in the Council of Europe.

During the meeting, bilateral relations and developments on the European continent were discussed. Both sides welcomed the signing of the Free Trade Agreement between Kosovo and the EFTA member states, which also includes Iceland, describing it as a very good opportunity for increasing economic cooperation and trade exchanges.

The Republic of Kosovo signed a Free Trade Agreement with the member states of the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) on January 22 in Davos, Switzerland.
