Kaçanik, 9 April, 2024
25 years after the heroic fall, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, in Kaçanik commemorated the 28 fallen of the nation and the 32 martyrs who were killed by the armed forces of Serbia during the battles in Lagje e Re and Rakoc.
During the tributes, Prime Minister Kurti laid wreaths at the place of the fall, next to the tombstone erected in Lagje e Re, in Rakoc, as well as at the “Martyrs’ Cemetery” Memorial Complex, in Kaçanik. From there he recalled that the genocidal intent of the Serbian forces did not spare any layer of our society.
“When we went to the tombstone in Rakoc, among the many names we saw there, was the name of the 105-year-old man, Nebih Livoreka, born in 1894. So, the forces of occupying Serbia, terrorists in their genocidal plan aimed at the extermination of the Albanians, they did not even spare the 105-year-old Nebih Livoreka”, he said.
Honoring all the martyrs and martyrs of the nation in the battles of Kaçanik, the prime minister mentioned in particular the four women martyrs who, protecting the civilian population, fell into direct confrontation with the enemy.
“It’s Mukadeze Lika Muhaxheri, there are Jehona and Lumnije Raka, and Emsale Frangu. So four KLA soldiers, four martyrs of the nation today that 25 years ago fell into direct confrontation with the enemy forces of Serbia”, said the prime minister, recalling that Mukadeze Lika Muhaxheri in May 1998, i.e. a year before she was killed as a soldier of the Kosovo Liberation Army, she stood stoically at the forefront of the protests against Serbia’s violence, organized in Kaçanik.
Also present at these tributes were Getoar Mjeku, Deputy Minister of Economy, deputies of the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo, representatives of the central and local level and many citizens.

Before we go to Koshare, where the 25th anniversary of the famous battle which broke the border that separated the Albanians and gave a tremendous boost to the liberation of Kosovo is marked, we came here to Kaçanik to honor and commemorate 28 fallen of the nation and 32 martyrs who were killed, who fell heroically 25 years ago in the battle of Lagjja e Re and Rakoc.
When we went to the tombstone in Rakoc, among the many names we saw there, was the name of the 105-year-old man, Nebih Livoreka, born in 1894. So, the forces of occupying Serbia, terrorists in their genocidal intervention aimed at extermination of the Albanians, they did not spare even the 105-year-old Nebih Livoreka.
Glory to all the martyrs and martyrs of the Albanian nation here in Kaçanik and wherever they fell in battles on the side of Kosovo, and in particular the glory of the four women martyrs here in Kaçanik who fell in direct confrontation with the enemy while protecting the civilian population. It is Mukadeze Lika Muhaxheri, there are Jehona and Lumnije Raka, and Emsale Frangu. So four KLA soldiers, four martyrs of the nation today since 25 years ago, fell into direct confrontation with the enemy forces of Serbia.
