The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, attended last night the farewell reception for the Ambassador of Bulgaria to Kosovo, Hristo Gudjev.
In his speech to those present, he expressed his gratitude to diplomat Gudjev who represents the Republic of Bulgaria, a country that is not only a sincere friend, but also a strategic partner of the Republic of Kosovo.
“During the years that we have worked together, with your dedication, we have managed to advance and deepen the bilateral relations between our two countries,” said the Prime Minister.
During Ambassador Gudjev’s mandate, five visits of Bulgarian officials have been made to Kosovo, including the President of Bulgaria, Rumen Radev, and 21 visits of Kosovo officials to Bulgaria have been organized, including the meeting of Prime Minister Kurti with the Prime Minister of Bulgaria, Dimitar Glavchev, and the President of Bulgaria, Rumen Radev.
While mentioning the agreements reached between the two countries, the Prime Minister said that Bulgaria has been an advocate for us whenever we have requested it, therefore we sincerely thank the relevant authorities for their continuous and proven commitment to Kosovo. He especially thanked the Bulgarian soldiers and officers who have served and are serving in Kosovo within KFOR.
“Ambassador Gudjev is completing his diplomatic mission, but the friends he has made here will last a lifetime. We will miss him and I am sure that Kosovo will miss him too. Therefore, I hope that he will be a regular guest in our country, which he can consider as his second home. “On this occasion, I must thank not only His Excellency for everything he has done, but through him, the country he represented admirably in Kosovo,” Prime Minister Kurti said in his speech.
Full speech of Prime Minister Kurti:
My dear friend ambassador Hristo, your accent of Albanian language was too good to mistake you for a native,
Your excellency Fatmir Sejdiu, former president of Republic of Kosova,
Your excellency Gudjev, Ambassador of Bulgarian in Kosova,
Honorable ministers of governments, members of parliaments,
Dear ambassadors and representatives of diplomatic missions of Republic of Kosova,
Members and representatives of our state institutions and civil society organizations,
Distinguish guest,
Ladies and gentleman
It is my honor to be present here today, to bid farewell to the distinguished diplomat representing the Republic of Bulgaria — a country that is not only a sincere friend, but also a strategic partner to the Republic of Kosova. During the years that we have worked together, with your dedication, we have succeeded in advancing and deepening the bilateral relations between our two states.
In this period, we also signed a number of agreements and in the process of signing are a number of others. This year, I had the honor to be a guest in Sofia, and to be welcomed by President Rumen Radev, exactly six months after he had visited Kosova. I was also the first of Dimitar Glavchev’s international counterparts to meet with him, only a few days after he had taken office as Prime minister of Bulgaria. And a few days ago in Prishtina, it was the Bulgarian minister of Culture, Najden Todorov, with whom we brought into being the idea of cinematic coproduction. Two days later, our minister of Internal Affairs, Xhelal Sveçla, was in Sofia, where he reached an agreement with his counterpart to broaden our cooperation in the area of security. All of this bears witness to the entirely special dynamism that our bilateral relations have taken on. Furthermore, during your mandate, ambassador Gudjev, we hosted five visits of Bulgarian officials to Kosova, and organized 21 visits of Kosova’s officials to Bulgaria. In all of these exchanges, your essential contributions were evident.
Bulgaria has been an advocate for us whenever we have requested it to be, and so today, at this farewell ceremony, we sincerely thank the respective authorities for their ongoing and proven dedication to Kosova. We are confident that even better times are coming, and that Kosova will continue its close partnership with Bulgaria, as a partner in Brussels and elsewhere.
In particular I would like to thank soldiers and officers of Bulgarian military who served and who are serving in our republic.
Ambassador Gudjev is completing his diplomatic mission, but the friends he made here will last a lifetime. We will miss him, and I am certain that he will miss Kosova as well. Therefore, I hope he will be a regular guest in our country, which he can consider his second home. On this occasion, I must thank not only His Excellency for everything he has done, but through him, the country he represented so admirably in Kosova.
Dear Ambassador, I wish you and your family good health and a long life, as well as success and prosperity to Kosova’s dear friend and partner, the Republic of Bulgaria.
Blagodarya vi nazdrave! Thank you and cheers!
