The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, yesterday hosted the champions of this edition of the basketball super league in Kosovo, the Peja Basketball Club.
In the premises of his office, the prime minister emphasized the fact that this year’s edition of the super-league has brought basketball back to the attention of each of us, thus emphasizing that the increase in viewership and support for local sports signals the right direction for the development of sports at the state level. He congratulated the managers and players of the Peja Basketball Club for their achievements this season and wished them even more success in the future. He also emphasized that the Government is interested in strengthening sport as much as possible, which is very important for youth and health, but also for the affirmation of the State.
At the meeting, Prime Minister Kurti was accompanied by the Minister of Local Government Administration, Elbert Krasniqi, and the Deputy Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Daulina Osmani. Meanwhile, in addition to the players of KB Peja, the leaders of this club were also present, the President, Fatmir Gashi and the vice-president Egzon Burri.
KB Peja, which celebrated its 30th anniversary, has a long history of success in local basketball. It was the 1992/1993 edition when Peja won the first title of the champion, while 2022/2023 makes it the champion of Kosovo seven times.
