Leposaviq, April 28, 2025

Today, in the center of the Municipality of Leposaviq, the Post of Kosovo inaugurated a new branch — the fourth in this municipality, located in a facility restored to the management of the Post of Kosovo.

Present at this official inauguration were the Acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, the Acting Minister of Economy, Artane Rizvanolli, the Mayor of the Municipality of Leposaviq, Lulzim Hetemi, the Chairman of the Board of the Kosovo Post, Gëzim Paci and the Chief Executive of the Kosovo Post, Nora Rraci.

Prime Minister Kurti congratulated and thanked the Post, the Ministry of Economy and the Municipality of Leposaviq for their work. He said that the opening of the new office in the returned property is a combination of legality and quality.

“Those unlicensed operators that operated earlier have been closed, and now we have the Post of Kosovo, where, in addition to regular postal deliveries, financial funds in euros can also be received for the citizens of Leposaviq. This is good news for the residents of the municipality, but also for the public postal service of the Republic of Kosovo”, said the Prime Minister.

He further emphasized that the Kosovo Post used to operate at a loss, but now with the new Chief Executive, Nora Rraci, it operates at a profit, and in addition, it has a territorial reach everywhere, throughout the municipalities of Kosovo and within the municipalities, including in areas that are further away from cities and towns.

“Kosovo Post does not regard operating offices as a profit-making opportunity; rather, it maintains locations where citizens can access services,” said the Prime Minister.

The Mayor of the Municipality, Lulzim Hetemi, thanked and congratulated the government and the post office for today’s inauguration and invited the latter to open other points in the municipality he leads.

Meanwhile, the Chief Executive of the Post of Kosovo, Nora Rraci, spoke about the plans of the enterprise she leads, to be as present as possible where citizens need the services of the public operator, but also about the results of the expansion of the network of post offices. She said: “If we talk about it compared to last year, we have had an 11% increase in the number of post offices throughout Kosovo. If we talk about the four northern municipalities of Kosovo, two years ago we had only two offices at the border points, while we are celebrating the 13th point, which I believe is a very great result given that we have achieved it within two years”.

Minister Rizvanolli, who expressed her happiness with the opening of this point today, said that the Government of the Republic of Kosovo will continue to support the Post in expanding its network and advancing the services it offers.

The Post of Kosovo, with the support of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo, is implementing a program to expand and modernize its network. As a result,

– 157 active post offices have been established throughout Kosovo, marking an 11% increase;

– 13 post offices are now operating in the four northern municipalities;

– Investments have been made in new means of transport, IT infrastructure and new postal and financial services.

The Post of Kosovo offers modern services to citizens, including international money transfers, the distribution of state documents and supporting the development of e-commerce.
