Furthermore, he listed the projects that the Government is supporting and funding in this municipality, along with the new kindergarten for which the foundation stone was laid today.

“In the Municipality of Malisheva, we are focused on several constructions, which are essential for both the teaching staff and the children, students and young people. Specifically, in Dragobin, we are building the “Emin Duraku” lower secondary school, and adapting the school into a kindergarten – the first project worth 1,176,000 Euro, while the second one, the adaptation or renovation of the school into a kindergarten, is worth 400 thousand Euro. In addition to these, we are also renovating or adapting the school into a kindergarten in Banja, which is in its first phase, worth around 280 thousand Euro, as well as the renovation or adaptation of the school into a kindergarten in Banja, also in its second phase, worth around 130 thousand Euro”, stated the Prime Minister. He also mentioned investments in accessibility slopes for people with disabilities at the “Lasgush Poradeci” school in Kieva, as well as renovations of sanitary facilities or toilets at schools in Drenoc, Panorc and Malisheva. Together, these investments amount to a total of 3 million Euro from the Government for education in the Municipality of Malisheva during this governing mandate.

Wishing success for the foundation-laying ceremony and the swift and effective completion of the works, Prime Minister Kurti thanked the education staff for their contribution and commitment thus far, and pledged that the Government will always be by their side.

Prime Minister Kurti’s full speech:

Bellanica of Malisheva is a highly organized and very welcoming village. Thus, allow me first to thank you for this warm atmosphere on this cold day.

Dear Mrs. Arbërie Nagavci, Minister of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation,
Dear Director of the School, Mr. Zogaj,
Dear Director for Education in the Municipality of Malisheva, Mrs. Krasniqi,
Dear deputies of the Assembly of the Republic, Mrs. Vrenezi, Mr. Avdyli and Mr. Krasniqi and Deputy Minister of Education, Mr. Ademi,
Honourable residents of Bellanica,
Dear teachers, parents and students,
Ladies and gentlemen,

As of yesterday, three million Euro have been allocated to education in the Municipality of Malisheva during our governing term, and today we are here to lay the foundation stone of a new kindergarten, with a contract value of approximately 690 thousand Euro. The contract was signed on 13 December, with a duration of 25 months. The kindergarten project is designed for 80 children, covering an area of 886 square meters, consisting of a ground floor and a first floor. The ground floor has a gross area of 533 square meters, while the first floor has a gross area of 353 square meters.

The ground floor includes the main entrance, a children’s wardrobe area, classrooms for children, a kitchen and dining area, sanitary facilities in each classroom, a meeting room, staff sanitary facilities, a laundry room and technical heating rooms. Whereas the first floor will house classrooms for children, a milk room, the director’s office, a nurse’s office and sanitary facilities. This kindergarten is designed to provide all the necessary conditions for children, as well as for educators and other administrative and technical staff.

Let me emphasize that we invest a lot in education because investment in education is the cornerstone of our future. Just as we invest in education, so will our future be too.

Specifically, in the Municipality of Malisheva, we are focused on several constructions, which are essential for both the teaching staff and the children, students and young people. Specifically, in Dragobin, we are also building the “Emin Duraku” lower secondary school, also adapting the school into a kindergarten, the first project worth 1,176,000 Euro, while the second one, namely the adaptation or renovation of the school into a kindergarten is worth 400 thousand Euro. Additionally, we are also renovating or adapting the school into a kindergarten in Banja, which is in its first phase, worth around 280 thousand Euro, as well as the renovation or adaptation of the school into a kindergarten in Banja, also in its second phase, worth around 130 thousand Euro.

Moreover, we have deemed it highly necessary to invest in access ramps for persons with disabilities, as they must be given equal opportunities from the start. This has been implemented specifically at the “Lasgush Poradeci” school in Kijevëa. Furthermore, to ensure that children not only receive quality education but also have dignified sanitary conditions, we have renovated toilets in Drenoc, Malisheva and Panorc, as it is extremely dangerous to have schools without proper and clean toilet facilities.

We have done everything within our means and knowledge to serve the citizens equally across all municipalities of Kosovo. Thus, if we look at the state budget for the coming year, it is approximately 44% higher than that of 2021 for Kosovo’s municipalities.

Above all, this kindergarten being built is for the children, who are both our present and our future. On this occasion, I thank all the teachers, educators, and school staff, as well as the school director, for their contributions and dedication thus far. We pledge that you will always have the Government by your side, close to you, for education. May this kindergarten bring joy to you. Let us complete it as quickly as possible, and congratulations to Bellanica and the entire Municipality of Malisheva.
