Deputy Prime Minister Rexhepi met with the Minister for European Union Affairs of Hungary, Janos Boka

The Deputy Prime Minister for Minority Affairs and Human Rights, Emilija Rexhepi, was received yesterday in Budapest by the Minister for European Union Affairs, Janos Boka, with whom she discussed bilateral relations between the Republic of Kosovo and Hungary.

Deputy Prime Minister Rexhepi underlined the achievements of the government of the Republic of Kosovo in the implementation of reforms in the field of the rule of law, social rights and in the economy, as well as confirmed the government’s full commitment to inclusiveness and support of all citizens regardless of ethnicity.

Further, Deputy Prime Minister Rexhepi emphasized the need for the removal of EU measures which remain in force unjustly. Likewise, Deputy Prime Minister Rexhepi also underlined the importance of supporting our country in the advancement of the process towards EU integration through obtaining the status of a candidate country.

Deputy Prime Minister Rexhepi thanked Minister Boka for Hungary’s contribution over the years as well as its support for providing scholarships to students from the Republic of Kosovo without distinction within the Hungaricum Stipendium platform.

Deputy Prime Minister Rexhepi invited Minister Boka to visit the Republic of Kosovo to closely see the progress achieved and to learn more about the general dynamics that are related to the protection of the rights of minority communities in the Republic of Kosovo.

Deputy Prime Minister Rexhepi is on an official visit to Hungary, where she will represent the Republic of Kosovo at the high-level summit on issues of social policies and demography held within the framework of the Hungarian presidency of the EU, which will take place in Budapest.
