Deputy Prime Minister Bislimi welcomed the Rapporteur for Kosovo in the European Parliament, MEP Riho Terras

The First Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, Development and Dialogue of the Republic of Kosovo, Besnik Bislimi, welcomed the Rapporteur for Kosovo in the European Parliament, MEP Riho Terras.

Initially, the Deputy Prime Minister congratulated the MEP on his new position and thanked the European Parliament for its continued support for Kosovo, both in the visa liberalization process, Kosovo’s progress and advancement, and its path towards membership in the European Union.

He further highlighted the government’s achievements during this mandate, from democratic progress and economic growth, to advancement with the implementation of reforms in the European integration process. He said that ERA II reached an implementation rate of 72% from 45% in previous governments, while in the National Program for European Integration, the level of implementation of reforms last year reached 66.12%, including many reforms that had not been implemented for years and that found an epilogue during this mandate.

Deputy Prime Minister Bislimi underlined the importance of advancing Kosovo’s path towards the EU and the serious and meritorious treatment of Kosovo’s application in December 2022.

The meeting also discussed the challenges and prospects in this process, Kosovo’s potential for progress and development, engagement in the Growth Plan, and the dialogue process.
