Today, the First Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, Development and Dialogue of the Republic of Kosovo, Besnik Bislimi, welcomed a delegation from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), led by the Deputy Chief of Mission of the IMF in Kosovo, David Amaglobeli.
At this meeting, the economic situation in the country and the economic performance of Kosovo were discussed. The mission praised our country for its increased economic activity, low budget deficit, low public debt, stable financial sector, and low inflation rate. Furthermore, the reforms and fiscal policies that have resulted in economic growth of around 4% were considered extremely positive, being the highest in the region and among the highest in Europe.
Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister Bislimi emphasized that Kosovo’s positive economic indicators in the last four years show that beyond the successive challenges and the sensitive geopolitical situation in Europe and globally, our country has shown consistency in economic performance and economic sustainability. He also highlighted the increase in employment and the increase in productivity in the economy.
Deputy Prime Minister Bislimi thanked the IMF mission in Kosovo, expressing the will and readiness to deepen cooperation.
